Mid-Month Update (November)

This is going to be a relatively really short post. So, I know I swore I would be more active but school got super crazy in October and other things happened so I wasn’t online often but this post is just a sort of update on what’s been going on, what books I’ve bought or loved recently, etc.

So end of October, my sister surprised me. I hadn’t seen her in over 2 years and she ended up just showing up on my doorstep. (She lives in India) Her school was online so she could attend it from anywhere so why not here where we’d be together? I was overjoyed when I saw her but also sort of in shock so I just stood frozen while she opened her arms and she had to prompt me saying, “Can you at least hug me?” before I practically leaped on her.

I honestly can’t remember if I’ve mentioned this before or not but I’m really into music and I want to be a musician more than anything in the world. I do music lessons and exams but I felt like I needed more exposure so despite worrying about people laughing at me in school, I signed up for a small concert my school put up just for us, and I sang. And it went way better than I thought. People didn’t laugh, they actually enjoyed it and I was super shocked but nothing could wipe the smile off my face all day. It seems really small but it meant a lot to me so I figured it was worth mentioning!

Ooh, what else? Right. Remember when I said I’d never fractured or broken a bone before? That changed. I’m in my schools Under-19 Girls Football team and we had two matches last week. During the second one, a girl stepped on my foot really hard. Twice. I still continued playing and saved the ball from going in our goal so that counts for something right? I didn’t visit the hospital for around 5 days because I’ve been injured before and it usually went away in a few days, if not a few hours. But it didn’t go away or get better at all so I visited the hospital two days ago, they took an Xray and told me I’ve got a small fracture and can’t do any sports for the next 6 weeks as that’s how long it will take at the least to get better. This means no football matches and no badminton training:(

But anyway, onto happier things! My aunt and grandmom are coming too and they’ll be here for three months! Since my family lives in India and books are so much cheaper there, I convinced my mom to let me buy books in bulk for them to bring with them when they come here. They amounted to a total of 600 dirhams so I’ll be paying for them with my pocket money of December and January (300 for each months). The books I ordered are: From Here to You (Jamie McGuire), If Love Had a Price and Twisted Love (Ana Huang), Breathing Water (Tanya Bird), A Stone in the Sea (A. L. Jackson), The Predator (Runyx), The Fine Print and Collided (Lauren Asher), Eyes to the Wind (Catherine Wiltcher), Forevermore (Alex Grayson), Inked in Lies (Giana Darling), and The Spanish Love Deception (Elena Armas).

I feel like I have this phase every two months where I suddenly become obsessed with Musician Romances again and that phase happened again. I looked for like a million musician romances. (My forever favorite one is Idol by Kristen Callihan, it’s just too good). So if anyone has more musician romance recs please give them to me, I would love you forever. Ghosted by J. M. Darhower is not a musician romance but it is a celebrity one and let me tell you, I bawled my eyes out when I read it and then again when I re-read it.

Another type of books I was obsessed with in October were Political romances. They’re so good. I especially loved Mr.President and Commander-in-Chief by Katy Evans, etc. So much so, I had inspiration for 3 political romance plots so I wrote them all down, lest I forget later.

On that note, my progress in writing went really well in October! I truly did end up writing a lot but now in November it’s been back to square one with writing here and there only especially because my sister’s here so I spend time with her and I can’t leave studies so there’s that too.

I think this is all I have for this post. I am writing more posts already so I’m going to try to be as active as possible. As always, my social media is open for anyone who ever wants to chat!

Question: How was October for you? Anything exciting happen? How’d November going?
