Ballet and babysitting bring two teens together in this very merry holiday rom-com from the author of the acclaimed Bookish Boyfriends series
Noelle Partridge is known for three things: being the best ballet dancer, babysitter, and person with the most Christmas spirit in her small town. But lately she’s bored by the lessons at her dance school, and her friends and father are more bah humbug than Hallmark movie marathon. So when her favorite babysitting clients ask her to accompany them on a ski trip over winter break, she packs her bags for the slopes. It helps that they’re offering double her rate—she’ll need the money for Beacon, an elite ballet academy that’s granted her an audition.
Noelle is ready to “Deck the Halls” and have fa la la la fun, until Wyatt, the older half-brother of her babysitting charges, decides to surprise his family for the holiday. He’s one of the best dancers at Beacon, and makes Noelle’s head spin faster than pirouettes. Unfortunately, she also manages to step on his toes—spoiling his surprise and complicating his secret plans. After a few missteps, Noelle and Wyatt begin to thaw toward each other and bond over the big decisions looming in each of their lives. With enough Christmas magic, Noelle might just start the New Year with lots of babysitting cash in her pocket and a chance with the pas de deux partner of her dreams.

Christmas season is almost here! I’m divided between Winter and Fall for my favorite season and there’s just something about Christmas that I really love so I’m so happy that Christmas themed-books are trickling in slowly.
In this book, we follow the story of a ballet dancer Noelle whose mother was all about Christmas and despite her having passed away, her loved ones usually continued the traditions her mother loved to follow. However, this year everything is a mess. With her home life, her friends and even with the one thing she loves more than anything: Ballet. So when one of her babysitting clients are going for a ski trip and request her to come with them, she jumps at the chance to get away. Plus it doesn’t hurt that they’re going to pay double her rate, and the money is something she needs. She was in control and had plans to follow to a T, but they all get sidetracked when the kids’ older brother, Wyatt, shows up too. Oh, and in case you didn’t already figure it out, he’s her crush.
I liked the plot of the story and how well it seemed to flow. This was a sweet romance through and through. There was so much of humor, wonderful characters its impossible to not love, and lots and lots of heart in the story. The author really knows how to write a story for sure, she crafted it wonderfully and I found it incredibly relatable.
This book is making me wish Christmas was already here. I absolutely got full on Christmas vibes from this book, and not just because they were on a ski trip, there was just a…vibe to it that was impossible to ignore. All the holiday activities, hot chocolate, tree decorating, baking, and more all combined to give me a full Christmas-y feeling.
The characters were really cute and so was the dynamic between them. I loved the sweet romance but I’m not going to sugarcoat it, I loved the friendships more. Noelle had a wonderful group of friends that supported her and truly cared for her and what these girls had is something I think a lot of people look for in friendships and never find. So I loved that dynamic between them.
All in all, if you like cute YA romcom titles or books with christmas-y feels to them, you should pick this book up!
