My Most Anticipated Book Releases for August 2021

I know I’m late with this post considering we’re already 4 days into August (why am i always late??) but we’ll count this anyway! There’s a lot of books releasing this month that I’m incredibly excited for, YA and NA, and I thought I’d share some of them. Some of these I’ve already read ARCs of and can GUARANTEE they are absolutely amazing while others I have very, very high hopes for. As everyone already knows, I’m a huge romance book addict so if I’m not wrong, although this list has various genres and tropes, almost every single one would still have romance in them:)

Let me know below if you’ve already read any of these or are looking forward to reading any of them too!

The Sinner by Emma Scott

I’m sure everyone knows by now that Emma Scott is one of my favorite authors and I’m always promoting her books and trying to get more people to read them. (The day she followed me on Instagram pretty much made me the happiest person on this planet.) Her book, The Sinner, is releasing this month and she’s branching out into paranormal romance, although rest assured, it will still be very much her. She also shared how this book is extremely personal to her, probably the most person book she’s written since the BH Duet. I’d been approved for an ARC and my copy of it landed on my kindle today! I have incredibly high hopes from this book and I know I won’t be let down because I’ve loved every single book Emma has ever written.

The Sinner releases on August 15th 2021.

Shy, introverted Lucy Dennings lives a quiet little life in New York City, working for a nonprofit and keeping to herself. Every afternoon, she goes home to her empty apartment and Edgar, her houseplant, and every night, she loses herself in the pages of her beloved romance novels. Her lonely heart seeks solace in

tales of passionate, enduring, all-consuming love, but more and more, Lucy feels she’s not just reading for pleasure but searching for a lost piece of herself in the pages. As if she once touched something beautiful but it’s been ripped away.

Until one day Lucy discovers a dead body in the alley behind her apartment. Even if it’s too late, her first instinct is to help.

Her second is to run.

Because the dead body isn’t so very dead, and suddenly, her little world isn’t so little but one in which dreams feel like memories, “inner demons” actually lurk in dark alleys, and a beautiful creature of darkness with amber eyes and wings like night might hold the key to what her heart has been aching for…if she doesn’t fall down the path of eternal damnation first.

Just Not That Into Billionaires by Annika Martin

Just Not That Into Billionaires releases on August 10th 2021.

Francine is stunned when she discovers she’s been married – for the last ten years! – to Benny, the surly and nerdy frenemy she worked with one summer in Vegas.

How in the world did they end up married? They could hardly stand each other! Though there was that drunken night….

She tracks down Benny, sure he’ll be as shocked about the marriage as she is, sure he’ll be happy to dissolve their union ASAP so she can get the documents she desperately needs.

But Benny is now a cold and wolfish billionaire. And yes, he’ll sign the paperwork…for a price: she has to spend the next three weeks playing his doting wife.

The Heart Principle by Helen Hoang

The Heart Principle releases on August 31st 2021.

When violinist Anna Sun accidentally achieves career success with a viral YouTube video, she finds herself incapacitated and burned out from her attempts to replicate that moment. And when her longtime boyfriend announces he wants an open relationship before making a final commitment, a hurt and angry Anna decides that if he wants an open relationship, then she does, too. Translation: She’s going to embark on a string of one-night stands. The more unacceptable the men, the better.

That’s where tattooed, motorcycle-riding Quan Diep comes in. Their first attempt at a one-night stand fails, as does their second, and their third, because being with Quan is more than sex—he accepts Anna on an unconditional level that she has just started to understand herself. However, when tragedy strikes Anna’s family she takes on a role that she is ill-suited for, until the burden of expectations threatens to destroy her. Anna and Quan have to fight for their chance at love, but to do that, they also have to fight for themselves.

Lovers and Liars by Catherine Wiltcher

I absolutely love Catherine Wiltcher, her Santiago Trilogy is one of my all time favorite dark romances and I recently heard about Lovers and Liars and I’ve been so incredibly excited for it since then. (And there’s almost no information about it!)

Roman Peters… ʌoɹʇǝԀ
Brother… ɹɐı˥
Soldier… ɟǝıɥ⊥

A new Santiago Series novel coming soon.

“I’m just a hop, skip and a lie away from discovering your secrets, detective…”

“Oh?” Dissolute, green eyes flicker across my face as he measures out an answer to my threat. He takes his time, casting shade over my conviction with each passing second. “Black arrows can’t touch me, Miss—whatever you call yourself these days. They don’t even leave a mark.”

“Maybe not.” I lean in close, so close, until his chilly perfection starts stealing all my oxygen. “But bleeding ones can…”

Fable of Happiness Book Two

Fable of Happiness Book Two releases yesterday! (August 3rd 2021)

A valley full of secrets.
A history full of nightmares.
A man who cannot be saved.
And a woman who holds his very life in her hands.

Strange how the villain of a story can so easily become the victim.
Utter lunacy to think the captive might now become the caregiver.
Gemma has a decision to make.
Her life or his.
Follow her heart, even when it’s screaming at her to run?
Or turn her back on the man who could become her everything?

Please note, this is a dark romance and not suitable for people with triggers. The content is dark and not for the faint of heart. Please take this warning seriously.

56 Days by Catherine Ryan Howard

This one is a crime/mystery/thriller and the synopsis instantly had me hooked. What could possibly be more interesting than this one??

56 Days releases on August 17th 2021.

No one knew they’d moved in together. Now one of them is dead. Could this be the perfect murder?

Ciara and Oliver meet in a supermarket queue in Dublin the same week Covid-19 reaches Irish shores.

When lockdown threatens to keep them apart, Oliver suggests that Ciara move in with him. She sees a unique opportunity for a new relationship to flourish

without the pressure of scrutiny of family and friends. He sees it as an opportunity to hide who – and what – he really is.

TODAY
Detectives arrive at Oliver’s apartment to discover a decomposing body inside.

Will they be able to determine what really happened, or has lockdown provided someone with the opportunity to commit the perfect crime?

I tried to keep the list really short this time because my mind usually tells me to add and be excited about every book that vaguely intrigues me. However, this list of 6 books are those that I’m truly excited and can’t wait for. (Also I’m going to my junior year of high school soon and college prep and research is already in full swing which means my reading time needs to be cut back now onwards for a while:( ) I obviously won’t stop reading or blogging at all but I can’t continue with reading 1-2 books every single day like I usually do (God, it sounds like such a bad habit when I say it like that 😬)

Anyway, let me know if any of these books are on your TBR (or you’re going to add them after this post) or alternatively, let me know what books you’re excited for that release this month!
