She can never be his…but he’s taking her anyway.

Stoic, broody, and arrogant, elite bodyguard Rhys Larsen has two rules: 1) Protect his clients at all costs 2) Do not become emotionally involved. Ever.

He has never once been tempted to break those rules…until her.

Bridget von Ascheberg. A princess with a stubborn streak that matches his own and a hidden fire that reduces his rules to ash. She’s nothing he expected and everything he never knew he needed.

Day by day, inch by inch, she breaks down his defenses until he’s faced with a truth he can no longer deny: he swore an oath to protect her, but all he wants is to ruin her. Take her.

Because she’s his.

His princess.

His forbidden fruit.

His every depraved fantasy.

Regal, strong-willed, and bound by the chains of duty, Princess Bridget dreams of the freedom to live and love as she chooses.

But when her brother abdicates, she’s suddenly faced with the prospect of a loveless, politically expedient marriage and a throne she never wanted.

And as she navigates the intricacies—and treacheries—of her new role, she must also hide her desire for a man she can’t have.

Her bodyguard.

Her protector.

Her ultimate ruin.

Unexpected and forbidden, theirs is a love that could destroy a kingdom…and doom them both.

I’d waited so long to read Twisted Games and I’m so happy that is surpassed all my expectations for it. I have a WIP idea for a bodyguard romance in my head but other than a few of them, I’d never particularly liked bodyguard romances much but I think I might change my mind after this.

I am so, so, so in love with this book. The plot, the characters, the setting, and oh my god, the romance. and the writing. I might just be in love with Ana. The story was written so well and it just…flowed. There was never a dull moment or any time that I wanted to put the book down.

The story revolves around Bridget, who’s the princess of Eldorra and second to the throne, so she lives a normal life, with bodyguards of course, but when her brother abdicates the throne, she’s next in line. I think in my eyes, Bridget is perfect. She was stunning, passionate, loving, caring, and every other good word out there. She was an absolute ray of sunshine in everyone’s life.

And where do I even begin with Rhys? Oh my god he is absolute perfection. He was so possessive over Bridget, it really makes me wish I had someone who’d be possessive over me like that. I loved the banter between him and Bridget and he was so grumpy and had an attitude with everyone, except her (why do i like that??) I adored Rhys from the very beginning but once he’d decided to let his feelings be known? I was absolutely not ready for that side of him. (Where can i find my own Rhys????)

I had a basic idea of the steamy scenes because I’ve been watching Ana’s tiktoks for weeks (don’t laugh at me okay I’m not the only one) and I’d be lying if I said those scenes weren’t some of my main motivations to read this book, and they were so much better than I’d thought and that says a lot since they were AMAZING in my thoughts. The romance was so so beautiful. The banter, the romantic things, the lengths they’d both go to for each other. (I’m crying, I need a Rhys).

All in all, this book is absolute perfection just like everything about it and you HAVE TO read it. You’re missing out the book of a lifetime if you don’t read it. I’m not even kidding. I’m obsessed and I’ve bookmarked so many pages to go back to. I absolutely love it and would recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Ana Huang is an author of primarily steamy New Adult and contemporary romance. Her stories range from lighthearted to dark, but they all have HEAs with plenty of banter and swoon sprinkled in. Besides reading and writing, Ana loves traveling, is obsessed with hot chocolate, and has multiple relationships with fictional boyfriends.
