ARC Review + Mood Board: Sunkissed by Kasie West (Blog Tour)

I’m so honored to be hosting a spot today on the blog tour for Sunkissed by Kasie West. When I got the confirmation email, I was absolutely over the moon because I’ve read (and loved!) all of Kasie West’s books and being on a tour and getting an ARC for one of her books is like a dream come true! So without further ado, let’s get on with it! (PS the full schedule can be found here.)

Sunkissed

Author: Kasie West

Genre: Young Adult, Contemporary

Publishing Date: May 4, 2021

A lighthearted and swoony contemporary YA romance by fan-favorite author Kasie West about a girl who finds that a summer spent at a family resort isn’t as bad as she imagined…and that falling in love is filled with heartache, laughter, and surprises!

After being betrayed by her best friend, Avery is hoping for a picture-perfect summer. Too bad her parents have dragged her and her sister to a remote family camp for the entire summer. And that’s not even the worst part. Avery also has to deal with no internet, a cute but off-limits staff member, and an always-in-her-face sister.

But what starts as a disaster turns into a whirlwind summer romance as Avery embarks on an unexpected journey to figure out what she truly wants and who she wants to be.

Thank you to TBRandBeyond Tours, Netgalley and Kasie West for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. This did not affect my opinion in any way and all opinions on the book are my own.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️{4.5}

Sunkissed is the perfect summer-themed book to pick up that’s light-hearted, makes you swoon, and has a cute romance. (Summer’s just around the corner so this book couldn’t have come out at a better time!)

The story follows Avery, who’s about to start her senior year after the summer, as she’s forced to spend the summer at family camp with her parents and sister. Turns out, it’s not as bad as she thought it would be.

I love all of Kasie West’s romances, maybe it’s the way she thinks or the way she’s able to put her feelings and ideas into words but they always have me wanting more. (Whether it was By Your Side, PS I Like You, Maybe This Time, etc.) You’d think that there’s only so many amazing romances that one author can come up with before they’re not as original anymore but you’d be wrong because Kasie West does it every time. I think Sunkissed might be one of my favorite books by her so far.

Although we didn’t focus much on Avery’s parents or sister, most of the focus was on the romance in terms of characters, I truly loved the characters, they were cute and really likable. And I absolutely adored the setting of the book. It made me wish I could go to a family camp with summer and the sun, a lake and an adorable romance. I love when light-hearted books have an equal balance between the light-heartedness and a self discovery/ breaking out of your shell kind of theme and this book absolutely nailed it.

All in all, incase I haven’t said it enough times yet, I ADORED this book, it was the perfect mix of everything, had wonderful characters, an adorable romance and a very relatable protagonist. I’d 100% recommend this book to anyone and everyone.
